Full-PU Rubber Running Track

A Full-PU running track system is not simply a single layer of material. It’s a carefully engineered system consisting of multiple layers, each contributing to the overall performance and durability of the track. These layers typically include:

Primer: A primer is applied to the prepared asphalt or concrete substrate to ensure excellent adhesion of the subsequent polyurethane layers.

Base Layer (Optional, but often recommended): In many Full-PU systems, a base layer of polyurethane is applied to provide additional cushioning and shock absorption. This layer may consist of a two-component polyurethane.

Seal Layer (If a textured base layer is present): If the base layer consists of larger PU particles, a seal coat, using finer-grained PU, is applied to create a smooth, non-porous surface. This prevents the top layer from sinking in and ensures a consistent, even surface.

Wear Layer: This is the top, performance layer of the track. It’s a highly durable, UV-resistant polyurethane layer that provides the running surface. EPDM granules may be broadcast onto this layer while it’s still wet to provide texture and slip resistance, or a textured topcoat may be applied.

Line Marking: Finally, the track is marked with lines and other necessary markings using a specialized, durable paint designed for polyurethane surfaces.

This multi-layered construction, with each layer meticulously applied and cured, results in a seamless, resilient, and high-performance running track surface. It is very important to pave the right track.
