EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) rubber granules are high-performance environmentally friendly paving materials designed for children’s playgrounds. They are composed of a colored surface granule layer and a black rubber buffer layer, combining safety protection, color aesthetics and long-term durability. It complies with the international children’s activity venue safety standard (EN1177) and China’s GB 36246-2018 environmental protection requirements, and is suitable for kindergartens, community playgrounds, commercial parks and other scenes, with a global market share of over 60%.
Core structure and process
Layered design
Colored surface layer: Food-grade EPDM particles (particle size 0.5-3mm), added with anti-ultraviolet agents and anti-mildew and antibacterial ingredients, optional thickness of 6-25mm, supporting 20+ standard colors such as red, blue, and green and customized patterns.
Buffer bottom layer: Black recycled rubber particles are mixed with polyurethane adhesives, with a thickness of ≥9mm, an impact absorption rate of 35%-50%, and can withstand a drop impact from a height of 1 meter.
Construction process
Basic treatment: The cement or asphalt base surface needs to be flat (3-meter ruler error ≤3mm), the permeability ≥0.6mm/s, to ensure smooth drainage.
Layered paving: Mechanical/manual paving achieves seamless integrated molding, the ratio of glue to particles is strictly controlled at 1:6-1:8, and the Shore hardness after curing is 45-60°.

International certification: Passed SGS environmental protection testing, EN14904 fire protection certification (B1 flame retardant) and NSCC sports goods quality certification.
Maintenance cost: Local wear can be directly filled with particles, and the renovation cost is reduced by 90%, without the need for overall demolition.
