The 400-meter standard running track is a professional track and field facility certified by World Athletics. It is made of polymer composite materials and has both competitive performance and environmental protection characteristics. Its design strictly follows the “IAAF Track and Field Facilities Handbook” and the Chinese national standard GB/T 22517.6-2020, and is suitable for professional events, school stadiums and community sports venues. The track consists of double straights (84.39 meters) and double equal radius curves (radius 36.5 meters), with an inner protrusion height of 5 cm and a width of ≥5 cm to ensure the safety and fairness of athletes’ competition.

Core structure and materials

Layered design

Subbase: compacted gravel layer (density > 95%) and asphalt/concrete foundation, compressive strength ≥25MPa to ensure stability.

Buffer layer: EPDM rubber particles mixed with polyurethane (PU) material, thickness 13-15mm, providing high elasticity and impact absorption (35%-50%).

Surface layer: Fully plastic or mixed polyurethane (3-8mm), surface texture non-slip (friction coefficient ≥ 0.7), resistant to spike wear (anti-spiked force up to 7mm spike length).

Material type

Breathable type: EPDM particle bottom layer + PU surface layer, low cost, fast drainage (permeability ≥ 0.6mm/s), suitable for rainy areas.

Mixed type: PU and rubber particles are composited, with strong wear resistance (lifespan 8-15 years), certified by IAAF Class 2, suitable for professional events.

Full plastic type: Pure PU structure without particles, excellent elasticity (Shore hardness 45-60°), vertical deformation 0.6-1.8mm, helping athletes’ competitive performance.

Precise Measurement: The first track is 400 meters long, and the outer track increases by about 8 meters per circle (the eighth track is 452 meters), and the marking error is ≤0.04 meters.

Non-toxic and Harmless: VOC content ≤5g/L, heavy metals comply with GB 36246-2018, and passed EN14904 fire protection certification (B1 flame retardant).

Efficient Drainage: Turtle-back double slope design, drain the accumulated water 2 hours after heavy rain, and add a geotextile buffer layer in the frozen area to prevent frost heave.

Durable and Economical

Wear-resistant Life: Normal use can reach 8-15 years, and the maintenance cost is low (only high-pressure water gun cleaning, 3-5 years of local repair).

Color customization: supports red, blue, green and other color combinations, can print LOGO, and adapt to the aesthetic needs of the venue.

Professional events: fully plastic/mixed running track, meeting the standards of international events such as the Olympics and World Championships.

School venues: breathable athletic track (300 meters/200 meters), suitable for primary and secondary school training and daily teaching.

Precise construction

The total station locates the four tangent points and the double center of the circle, with an error of ≤2mm.

The asphalt foundation needs to be tested with a 3-meter ruler (flatness error ≤3mm, pass rate ≥95%).
